Black Fox is not just a multifaceted forestry company, but also a school! We have created the only private forestry technician training program on the west coast and its success is unmatched. Our 7-week annual Career Technical Education training program educates students on the basics of forestry and timberland management. Students acquire entry level skills to jump right into the workforce as certified forestry technicians.
Our training program opens a door to the possibility of a successful career path in an ever-growing industry. We educate students with a comprehensive approach of classroom time accompanied by direct field experience. The topics we cover in the classroom are followed with hands-on field experience to deepen understanding and give students the opportunity to practice complex forestry concepts in the real world. Our instructors are invested and care about the students' success. We not only teach forestry, but strive to instill a sense of confidence and pride in students looking to improve their lives.

Class is 7 weeks long, facilitated at the Dunsmuir Adult School, 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, in early Spring. This schedule prepares students for the time commitment of holding a job in this industry. At the end of the training, students are presented with an occupational certification and can expect job placement/employment offers from viable forestry partners in need of technicians.
